UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre recently shot a commercial for Gatorade, a Canadian version of their recent “G” advertisements which feature athletes from both past and present.
“I’m very proud to be doing this as it is the first time an athlete from my sport of MMA is in a Gatorade commercial,” said St-Pierre in an interview conducted on the set.
MMAFrenzy.com learned of GSP’s appearance in the ad earlier today and received the shot below of St-Pierre on the set of the commercial:

Now if we could just get an American fighter in an American Gatorade commercial…
Yes I nominate Bo Cantwell his stamina is second to none
Or Andy Wang
there has been a america fighter. gina carona. She did a commercia reflecting with bruce lee
Good call, I forgot about that, but the “G” campaign is a little bit different.
Next time, no greasing!…but next time GSP should be able to wear those shoes!
hmmmm…american, canadian, english, whatever…why not have the BEST ambassador of the sport promote the product? seems like they went to the top and made the right choice…
I don’t have a problem with GSP promoting Gatorade, I think it’s a great thing, and I think he is a great person for it (Greasegate/hiring a guy to kiss BJ aside). It’s just that this ad (as the article reads) is for Canada only. I was not expressing displeasure at the ad, just the future hope for a similar ad to run here in America with perhaps an American fighter. Not a criticism of the ad or GSP, but a criticism that Amerca hasn’t yet embraced the sport quite to the level that Canada has where we can have a similar ad.
