Nate Loughran (9-1), who compiled a 1-1 record in the UFC middleweight division with a victory over Johnny Rees and a loss to Tim Credeur, has been granted his release by the promotion.
According to MMA Junkie, who confirmed the release on Sunday with the fighter’s manager, Loughran plans on dropping to the 170-pound welterweight division and gaining experience outside the octagon, but hopes to eventually return to the UFC.
Loughran had been scheduled to fight Nissen Osterneck at UFC Fight Night 18, but withdrew from the proposed contest due to an injury.

Must be a slow day in MMA news. Never heard of this dude.
haha not a bad fighter just not for UFC yet
Hey if Guillard has a place in the UFC this kid most definately can come back after he steps his game up…..
Yeah, well, if you got dominated by Tim Credeur you’re not going to be a threat in the UFC, you’re much better off to take the step down in comp and protect your record, then come back to the UFC when you’re more ready, than to take a fight that will likely result in another L.
