Kimbo leaves his hands too low and then drops his hands when he throws, leaving himself vulnerable to counters. If you need to see what this looks like...see Liddell-Evans or Rampage-Liddell or Rampage-Wanderlei. Say what you want about timmy boy but his hands stay up and his reach is tough to overcome IN BOXING. Kimbo has less a chance at success at boxing than he does at MMA, his striking was still sloppy and his hand defense was awful. More power to him if he is offered more money to box but I just do not understand busting your a$$ in a tough sport after turning 33 to changing over to another sport. You don't just take away the kicks and take downs and you're a boxer, there is a lot more to it than that. Freddy Roach even said Anderson Silva was not the best boxer and Anderson is arguably the best striker in MMA. bzul3- He never actually disrespected MMA, he took a chance to make the money and made it so more power to him. Honestly, the sport is lucky EliteXC didn't ruin(we've already been banned once here in the states) it after his Primetime Nationally Televised Fights w/ Thompson and the mess w/ Petruzelli. I know a lot of the fighters I've met and used to train w/ didn't like him because for what he was paid/billed as he never seemed to take MMA seriously(his smoking revelations) and, he showed no progression at all(if anything he showed a digression). To be honest he was exactly what the sport started as and exactly what the sport has tried to distance itself from. That's the reason why so many people look negatively on him. He wasnt the one that went to elite xc and asked to be signed, they came to him. however he will not do well in boxing because he has very bad cardio, and thats what you need for boxing.
