Jon Fitch vs. Paulo Thiago Rumored For UFC 100

Welterweight contender Jon Fitch and undefeated up-and-comer Paulo Thiago will reportedly clash at UFC 100 on July 11th in Las Vegas.
Fitch (18-3) won a record-tying eight straight UFC bouts between late-2005 and early-2008 over the likes Josh Burkman, Thiago Alves, and Diego Sanchez to earn a shot at the welterweight title. In his matchup with champion Georges St-Pierre in last-August at UFC 87 Fitch suffered a hard-fought unanimous decision loss but earned praise for his gutsy performance. Soon after the defeat Fitch was cut by the promotion for failing to sign a licensing deal, but the two sides quickly resolved the problem and Fitch was re-signed. In his return bout he defeated Akihiro Gono via unanimous decision at UFC 94 in January.
Thiago (11-0), a Brazilian police officer, exclusively fought in Brazil to open his career, compiling a 10-0 record before signing with the UFC. In his promotion debut at UFC 95 last month in London the submission specialist knocked out welterweight contender Josh Koscheck just over three minutes into the opening round.
UFC 100 is expected to be headlined by the heavyweight unification bout between Brock Lesnar and Frank Mir and is also expected to feature Georges St-Pierre vs. Thiago Alves and Stephan Bonnar vs. Mark Coleman.

good matchup, I want fitch to win. he is a very underrated guy and his fight against gsp proved that he can hang with the best. he has been the only one to last with gsp, and should get another title shot if he can win a few more fights. go fitch!
Fitch cannot slug, he is basically a defensive player in my opinion…
That coleman/bonnar fight had better not be on the main card. That fight is a joke, and will likely be the worst fight on the year.

I hate to break it to you Fitch fans, but he better start finishing fights or its gonna be a long time before he fights for a title. cause when it comes down to it this is a business and I hate to break it to you Jon Fitch isn’t exciting and doesn’t move the meter from casual fans (if you are posting on an MMA site your not a casual fan), That’s why his last fight made the undercard.
I think that his last fight was on the undercard (v Gono) because that fight simply had UD written all over it…. I stated to a few people from this site that the Fitch v Gono fight being the swing bout was due to the overwhelming possibility of all of the main card going to decisions.. And the funny thing is that the only one that didn’t go atleast 15 was the Machida fight… Anyways that’s my thoughts on that…
Clearly Fitch v Paulo is a revenge match for AKA, I would like to see Fitch finish Paulo in the first round but Fitch will be exciting in this match and if it goes to decision so be it.. Anyways there it is…
