Four fighters would earn $50,000 in bonus money tonight at UFC 167. The promotion doled out the awards to UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre, Johny Hendricks, Tyron Woodley, and Donald Cerrone. UFC president Dana White announced the bonuses at the UFC 167 post-fight press conference.
St-Pierre and Hendricks Combine for “FOTN”
UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre and Johny Hendricks combined to earn tonight’s UFC 167 “Fight of the Night.” The back-and-forth battle produced a fantastic fight and an incredibly controversial decision victory for the champ. The bonus is St-Pierre’s sixth and Hendricks’ fifth in the UFC and sixth overall.
Woodley Earns $50K for KO of “Kos”
Tyron Woodley was impressive tonight as he flattened Josh Koscheck for “Knockout of the Night” tonight in Las Vegas. The former MIZZOU standout scored the knockout after parrying a punch from “Kos” and delivering a hard series of strikes. The bonus is Woodley’s first in the UFC.
Cerrone Pockets “SOTN”
Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone returned to form tonight with an impressive triangle choke of Evan Dunham that earned him “Submission of the Night.” Cerrone beautifully turned an error into a bonus by locking up the choke after being reversed by Dunham. The award is Cerrone’s seventh in the UFC and his twelfth overall.
