MMAFrenzy’s live fight coverage of UFC Fight Night 32 concludes with tonight’s main event rematch pitting Dan Henderson against Vitor Belfort. The light heavyweight tilt would see Belfort even their series at 1-1 as he knocked out Hendo for the first time in his career.
Belfort Starches Hendo
Vitor Belfort was determined to make a statement against Dan Henderson tonight in Brazil and he certainly accomplished that. Unlike the first fight, there would be no judges involved as Belfort crushed Hendo coming in and then swarmed hard for the finish. Hendo would valiantly hang on, but a left high kick would end his night moments after he got back to his feet.
With the victory, Belfort is now in line for a title shot at middleweight against the winner of the UFC 168 main event featuring UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman rematching Anderson Silva. The victory tonight also could provide more options even if Silva were to reclaim his title, as Belfort has also proven to be a force at light heavyweight as well. Belfort has now won three straight fights, all three involving massive headkicks, while Hendo has lost three straight for the first time in his career.
Rd. 1- Touch of gloves. No strikes a minute in but Hendo swarms and gets dropped by a left hook. Belfort is all over him with heavy strikes and he unloads a massive left kick to the head of Hendo as he stands and Hendo is out for the first time ever. Wow.
