Don King Partners With New MMA Promotion

Boxing promoter Don King has been hired as a senior adviser for RHM Productions, a group of investors that will soon launch an MMA promotion.
MMA Junkie broke news of the partnership yesterday, adding that King’s relationship with HBO could lead to the new promotion’s events and specials airing on the network.
Though details on the new venture are scarce, a program similar to HBO’s “24/7″ and the UFC’s “Primetime” is expected to air to promote their first event, which is expected to take place before year end.

How boxing is ruined? Did you see how many ppl gather when there is an event?
Meant more how he ruins boxers, steals money. Boxing has not been that great since the mid-80’s. PPV buys are down, tickets at the gate are down, boxing is on life support. Don King is jumping the old ship and coming aboard the hot new speedboat.
I agree, what the hell does he want with MMA? The MMA world is way different than the boxing world and anyway whatever he’s apart of is going to fail because everyone already knows who he is and how he’s just a money hungry a$$whole.

this promotion wont be big. It cant compete with the ufc. or even affliction. the only positive it has is the connections to hbo, however elitexc had showtime and that didnt work out. just another way for king to get more money and screw more guys. I like his interviews though, he uses crazy words and sometimes makes some up just like george bush. I miss george bush doing interviews with his dumb, glazed, high as hell look. those were awesome interviews. I loved when that reporter threw a shoe. I was like wtf!!! bush was the same way. Priceless!!!
You spent as much time making fun of the last president as you did commenting on the topic… can we try to stay away from politics as much as possible here, especially the bashing people part… Political discourse perfectly welcome in the off topic forum, but even there I think we would be best suited to keep arguments issue related not person related.

Well I don’t think this will succeed too well, and if Don King is involved, that’s a good thing. I hope they can at least pick up a few half decent fighters nad have a few decent shows. It still can’t hurt to watch more fights though.
Don King is still alive and attempting to still con people oout of their money, I hope he has an EPIC FAIL in MMA, I have no care for Don King
Yeah, the only positive I can see out of this is Don King losing money like the Shaws and T~Shirt Guy.
This will be less seccessful than that MMA show on BET where rappers where the coaches lol….does anybody remember what that was called?

I just hope that the main event on the first card is Don King v Ken Shamrock for a TV title or something.
