MMAFrenzy’s coverage of UFC Fight Night 30 kicks off with our recaps of tonight’s first trio of Facebook fights. In the third fight of the evening, Cole Miller defeated Andy Ogle in a tough bout. In other action, Jimy Hettes, and Brad Scott picked up victories in tonight’s opening action.
Miller Defeats Ogle
Cole Miller picked up a much needed victory over Andy Ogle in the third fight of the evening. While Ogle controlled the third, Miller out-grappled the Englishman in the first two rounds to secure the win. Miller is now 2-3 in the UFC’s featherweight division, while Ogle drops to 1-2 in the Octagon.
Hettes puts Whiteford to Sleep
Jimy Hettes returned from a long layoff to submit Scottish fighter Robert Whiteford tonight in Manchester. Hettes dominated the grappling game despite struggling a bit with the striking exchanges early in the first. Whenever the fight hit the canvas, Hettes was in complete control and he picked up a slick technical submission victory over Whiteford. The victory marks a successful return to the Octagon after Hettes dropped the first fight of his career to Marcus Brimage
Scott Chokes Out Kuiper
UFC Fight Night 30 kicked off in the middleweight division as Michael Kuiper took on TUF Smashes runner up Brad Scott. The two fighters wasted little time getting after each other in Manchester as a grappling battle took place over the bout’s four minute run. Scott would secure the finish by locking up a front choke and forcing Kuiper to tap. The victory gives Scott his first UFC victory.
