That’s too bad about Joe Lauzon. Tough break.

I am very surprised that Koscheck’s turnaround time is so quick. I don’t care what anybody says about that KO ruling, the UFC is seemingly bending over backwards to give this guy an opportunity to excel. However, I am assuming this next fight will be on the prelims.

  • willyd says:

Sylvia and Mercer in a boxing match should be interesting, a lot of hugging. Rude Boy is gone, which will make some very happy. Markham fighting with a collapsed lung is just crazy. GSP’s response was very well documented, but will still be a debate back and forth between fans. Next Affliction card should have Din Thomas vs Dan Lauzon. And that sucks Joe Lauzon will be out for at least 12 months. Nice updates Kris.

  • justin says:

    Sucks about Lauzon.

Kinda sucks about Mandaloniz, but not really.

Koscheck, I don’t know that its necessarily that he is getting extra opportunities, its that he is willing to take the extra opportunities, and there are fights available to him. The other thing is, Kos signed a 20 month contract, rather than a contract based on a number of fights, therefore he is under contract with the UFC for 20 months and can fight as many times within that 20 months as he likes… so he’s fighting a lot and I guess putting that money into his clothing line.

    • Jerod says:

Just read that about Kos’s contract. That makes more sense. On the related note of his clothing line, it pains me to admit that I have contributed to his revenue as I bought a good buddy of mine a Kos shirt for his b-day not too long ago (said friend absolutely despises Koscheck) so the gift was in retaliation to him buying me the nastiest Tito Ortiz shirt a few years back). but I digress.

  • dbiz says:

Kos, as much as we hate him, fights and fights regularly. Also, as much as we tend to hate him, he fights well (usually).

GSP’s response to Kizer: Much more well-written (I guess his lawyers speak better English than Penn’s) and contains a lot more details re: events and REASONS for certain actions. Interesting read. I need to watch a full broadcast of the fight with the notes from that letter.

Sucks for Lauzon, but he should still be able to come back strong.

    Rude Boy: Meh. No loss.

Gotta love the pricing for the UFN tickets. Come have one of those in Cinci. I’d love to go.

  • DaBoss says:

Mercer vs Sylvia should be a chuckle, when I read this I thought about Rocky Balboa vs Thunderlips’ exhibition on Rocky III. Smart money says the former boxing world heavyweight champion wins by quick KO

  • nightmare says:

i don’t hate kos but they talk to much about him improving from the tuf 1 show and it’s pretty annoying saying he was just a wrestler now he has a greattly improved stand up.

  • fr702 says:

Kos signing the month long contract (20) helps Kos in the # of fights he is able to have.. Tho I’m not a fan of his I believe that this is going to be the ideal way to do contracts in the future.. It would allow more fights for the top fighters at a higher frequency, I like the idea and hope it works out well, hell imo it already has it seems like Kos is fighting on every card… If he is putting finances into MAR clothing line well so be it, but his stuff is still as bad as most..
Jerod nice burn on your buddy, that shhh is rather funny

RudeBoy going away awww don’t care, have fun in Bellitor or whatever

Timmeeehhh v Mercer boxing wooohoooo don’t care

Lauzon damn that does suck forsure

    Great ticket pricing forsure

The GOAT signing with StrikeForce is awesome imo

Rory collapsing his lung and getting ko’d well that’s not a good trip over the pond now is it..

GSP, well nice response I guess huh

DREAM 7 on HDNet or as I like to call it justin.tv is going to be fun to watch and really can’t wait….

  • JOHNBOY says:

bad for joe man, puts himself out there then gets fooked by his knee that sucks!!

  • bigchris2328 says:

good for kos that he is fighting agian so soon, he just needs to get over the thought that he is a great striker and start using his wrestling skills and throw a few leg kicks, he will be fine.
I love what GSP’s lawyer guy said in his conclusion, “the letter constitutes nothing more than Mr. Penn’s desperate attempt to protect his reputation and commercial value after being totally dominated by a superior athlete”
Hopefully now this whole “grease-gate” thing is over and we can move on with mma and laugh when ken-flo destroys bj next year or whenever bj decides to fight.

  • huertarogerhuerta says:

glad to hear my boy kos is gettin back in there so soon. i do agree he needs to get back to slammin guys on there head. but we see this all the time wit great wrestlers they just stop using there takedowns(matt hughes is the only one i can think of

  • RJA says:

I have alot of respect for kos,and i’ve grown to like him a little.I think anybody that takes alves on such short notice deserves respect. And love him or hate him he’s good fighter, and i hope he’s not on the under card.I wonder if fitches next fight will be on the main card. What a joke.
