Cub Swanson vs. Diego Nunes Signed For WEC 40
Featherweights Cub Swanson and Diego Nunes will square off at WEC 40 on April 5th in Chicago.
Swanson recently confirmed to MMA Junkie the bout agreements have been signed for the matchup.
A rising contender in the 145-pound division with 11-straight victories, Swanson (13-2) was derailed with a 35-second loss to Jens Pulver in late-2007. Following a victory over Donnie Walker outside of the WEC, Swanson returned to the promotion and topped Hiroyuki Takaya via unanimous decision at WEC 37 in December.
Nunes (12-0), a member of Team Nogueira Brazil, compiled an 11-0 record before making his WEC debut in December with a unanimous decision win over Cole Province at WEC 37.
WEC 40 is headlined by bantamweight champion Miguel Torres against Brian Bowles and also features Jeff Curran vs. Joseph Benavidez and Wagnney Fabiano vs. Fredson Paixao.
