Richard Crunkilton has been forced out of his WEC 39 matchup against Bart Palaszewski after suffering a knee injury less than a week before the lightweight co-main event was to take place on March 1st in Corpus Christi.
Ricardo Lamas, a 5-0 WEC newcomer, has been tapped to replace Crunkilton and face Palaszewski on short-notice, according to MMA Weekly.
Palaszewski announced that Crunkilton had been forced to withdraw from the fight during an appearance on “The Ground and Pound” earlier Tuesday.

Looking forward to Sunday night… free fights back to back weeks, good stuff.
A selfish note, but I hate when fighters get injured so close to the fight date and I have to adjust everyone’s picks in our pool. On the card itself, can’t wait to see if Brown is legit or a “Serra”. IMO, Garcia will take the belt via choke. Hope Razor Rob gets back on track with a victory.
i will be there live, i wasnt lookin forward to this fight anyway so it doesnt hurt my mma feelings, i cant wait to see leonard bring back the gold to texas. oh by the way kris, do i get kudos if i hold up a MMAFRENZY.COM sign? lol
