Can we drop the Cung Le fallacy, please? Put the boy on the ground in any fashion and he’s done in minutes. He has ZERO ground game. He’s a non-factor, especially since he fights once a year at most. If he decides to be a man and actually fight, maybe he’ll eventually earn a shot in the UFC, but I see him as 4 fights before a title shot there, and he’d better hope Maia isn’t one of them or he’ll get choked out worse than Sonnen did.

I forgot to add that Maia’s triangle was insane, I have yet to see anyone set that up as smooth and easy as him. There has been guys that fall into one, but not any that have been sat on, and then rolled into it like that. Beautiful BJJ by Maia.

Looking at the kos fight in full speed, he didnt look like he was out cold, thankfully he landed on his back, had he landed on his side there would be no doubt the fight was over. However looking at it in slow motion when that uppercut hit him he was out cold. Had it not been for the second punch there wouldnt be any debate about a quick stop. Sucks for kos though, he was doing well and I wouldve liked to see a Kos vs Fitch fight with the winner getting a title shot, but that idea is down the crapper.
How about Maia!!! The guy is just amazing. He will be the one to beat the spider. His bjj and subs are top 3 in the world, argurably number 1. Silva’s isnt. However Silva’s handlers will duck the fight until next december. I dont get that… Silva wants to be the top fighter in the world, but he ducks the big names. 205 is loaded and he could make a run there, but its too dangerous and he would get ko’d by Wandy, Rampage, or Evans. Or submitted by Machida. GSP already had a mega fight, but him and Silva will exceed any amount of money that any previous card has made. Easy 10 mil, that card will sell out in a matter of hours. I would love to see GSP destoy Silva, but Silva has a reach advantage over GSP, and I would hate to see him lose. Please make GSP and Silva fight if Maia and Silva does not happen. I would love to also see Silva vs. Fedor. Just some food for thought, that fight would be interesting.
Nate the great, and Hendo, have already got shots at Silva and both lost. They shouldnt get a shot before Maia. Dana please do me a favor and have Maia fight more than once or twice a year, the guy is awesome. Give him a title shot. Or bring over Cung Le and let him pick apart Silva. Cote showed the blueprint on how to beat the spider. He was doing well until he blew his knee.
Overall the card was amazing. It beat the hell out of UFC 94, the only two good things about 94 to me were: BJ getting destroyed and Nate Diaz losing to Clay Guida. Diaz and BJ are two guys who think they are the best, but they both lost.

No need for a rematch, Kos lost plain and simple. They always say don’t leave it in the hands of the judges/refs, we’ll always keep your guard up too. Kos relies on the overhand right too much and has a sloppy jab. ASSuming that Thiago would have gone into Kos’s guard, only makes you look like a donkey. Thiago walked up to Kos and looked down before the ref jumped in, if he would have went in like Rampage on Wandi, Kos would have easily taken 2-3+ punches to the face.

IMO he was alert and ready to defend – judging from the last 1/2 second, the look ,posture and distances
thiago would have gotten in koschecks guard, and to assume more makes a donkey out of you and me

I don’ think the kos stoppage was premature. DId you guys see the replay? Kos was so out, thiago could have landed 3 or 4 solid shots to really put him to sleep.

It would be sick if marquardt faces maia for a title shot, then after hendo beats bisping he can get his shot.

it was a very good card made for some good fights. on the whole i think we saw what was pretty much expected (kosheck fight aside).
josh got caught….(who cares :/).
we first saw dos santos smacking the crap out of those pads in danas blog before the werdum fight and his striking looked scary then. the 2 fights since just reaffirmed how truly sick his striking his. coming for noguieras camp i doubt he has the jits weakness that so often accompanies the sicker strikers. he is certainly looking like a blank check at the moment. i share the same surname as dan hardy so i was always going to be cheering him on (im also english), i think its far to early to be expecting a great deal from the guy though, i think a big majority of fighters now hold that kind of shot in their arsenal if the right situation arrives. sanchez has made the right decision moving down, he is now a big fish in a medium pond, rather than a medium fist in a big pond. he simply outclassed joe daddy. sanchez will do well at 155, weird kid though!…. last thing i have to add is, you gotta love paul kellys character .
