FOX Sports Latin America and Bellator MMA have announced a multi-year exclusive partnership that will provide Bellator MMA throughout Latin America.
The deal gives FOX Sports Latin America exclusive broadcast rights to Bellator MMA in countries like Brazil. The deal will begin in October and will provide all Bellator content, including Bellator 360, in more than 50 million homes. FOX Sports Latin America will help celebrate the launch of the new deal by showing Bellator MMA: Rampage vs. Tito, which will air as a pay-per-view in North America.
“FOX Sports Latin America has been looking for the premier mixed martial arts organization to partner with, and Bellator is the perfect fit. We are thrilled to make Bellator the widest distributed MMA promotion in Latin America and Brazil, reaching more than 50 million homes from day one” said Carlos Martinez, President of FOX International Channels Latin America.
The deal may seem like a head-scratcher considering the company’s connection to FOX Sports, an exclusive UFC provider in the United States, however the UFC’s pre-existing deals with other Latin American distributors likely lead to the deal with Bellator MMA.
