As was mentioned earlier, fedor isn’t getting pushed as hard as brock. Brock is a beast. hes huge. fedor has always looked like a common guy thats like “oh I guess I will fight, and after ill drink some beer and watch t.v.” he just looks like he isn’t interested in fighting, however he is one of the top heavyweights in the world. He isn’t number one in my eyes until he fights legit opponents. he fought AA and timmy when they were on the downhill of their career. AA was picking fedor apart with his boxing, and had it not been for his glass jaw he would have outpointed fedor. fedor was losing the first round.
As far as brock is concerned his loss to mir was bs. I say this because there have been recent fights that the refs have stopped with less punches when the guy is down. brock landed like 30 hammerfists on mir and mir looked like he was out when he was getting popped. had brock been patient he would not have gotten kneebarred. mir knows he got beasted. brock was very patient in the fight with randy, and he will have to be the same way with mir, because mir’s subs are great.
As far as a brock vs. fedor fight, I give the advantage to brock unless the fight would happen in a ring instead of the octagon. fedor has not been in an octagon, it is different and affects your fighting, just ask hendo and cro cop. fedor hasnt faced a guy who is that big and powerful and quick. Brock has about 40 pounds of muscle on fedor and at the very least he will do what he did to herring and basically lay on fedor to control the fight.
Hopefully machida can get a title shot vs. evans. I see machida as the only guy in 205 that can beat evans. evans has amazing ko power, and we all saw the evans vs. chuck fight. If anyone wants to stand and throw with evans they will get ko’d. machida destroyed thiago silva, he is elusive. I hope if they do fight, machida submits evans. evans is just too damn cocky. I hate that in a fighter.
GSp vs. the pitbull would be a great fight, the pit has a decent chance against gsp. bj will lose to kenny, and then he will claim that gsp put vaseline all over kenny and thats why he got destroyed again. wandy and ace is not a good fight, wandy will ko ace in the 2nd.

In a perfect world UFC would be able to sign Fedor and Cro-cop and have them debut together at UFC 99. But Fedor debuting in the UFC might be something they would save for UFC 100. Regardless, I really hope Mirko gets back on track and proves everyone calling him “washed up” wrong. Would be even better to see him come back and get some revenge on Gonzaga. But, I think he could really do damage by dropping to the 205 weight class. Cant wait to see him back and fighting at 100%. I had read somewhere that he would like to be a free agent so he could fight for multiple promotions and get in around six fights a year. But I don’t think UFC would go for that. Having fighters exclusively fight for one promotion under contracts is just good business.

not jumping on a band wagon, as a SAMBO practitioner I’m a big fan of Fedor but the man is a man and with out anyone pushing him, he could get complacent. Even IF the Barnett fight materializes (which until they are both in the ring and the ref says go I won’t believe it will happen), he’s fighting a guy whose been his friend for years. There is no one really to push him at all. Lesnar is only going to get better in the cage and w/o other quality people coming after him, even the best(fedor) can weaken. That said Lesnar still has to beat an improving Mir otherwise the talk is pointless. The only reason Fedor could struggle w/ Lesnar is the fact that Lesnar has the combination of athleticism and size that most fighters don’t possess. Like I said above the longer that match up is put off the greater Lesnar’s chances of winning increase due to increased experience.

As for Sylvia and Arlovski vs Fedor:
AA- has a glass jaw(as much as that pains me to say it) and mistimed that knee badly. As much as people want a rematch, it’s pointless to want it b/c if AA stays true to how he’s fought in recent years he will come out and be too hesitant and it’d be a boring fight.

Sylvia- Did anyone really believe he had any chance at stopping Fedor? If you did jump out a window. Even when he looked like he turned the corner, he didn’t possess any one skill that made him look like he could be remotely on Fedor’s planet.

Wow alot of you guys are on the brock lesner bandwagon now!!!

Man please the dude is human , yeah he is huge but that does not equal an win over Fedor at all.

It’s called skill, even if Brock is training hard, so was AA, so was Timmmeh!!!!

No amount of Practice or Training can prepare you to being punched in the face with 5 oz gloves by a champion of Fedor caliber nor any amount of bjj practice or training to totally negate Fedor skill in sambo and bjj.

NOW Fedor isn’t invinsible either as AA WAS proving but at the same time be ready to deal with stupid or careless mistakes that Fedor capitalizes on so well. Brock aint ready, HE LIKE EVERYONE ELSE AT THIS POINT HAS A PUNCHERS CHANCE……

you’re right Fedor COULD armbar anyone and win in SAMBO, as a matter of fact it takes less extension to cause more pain/damage to someone who is physically bigger. That said this is MMA and if Lesnar learns even the basic defense against an armbar(locking your hands and stacking the person to keep them from using their hips) he is in the perfect position for a monster slam. Granted slamming doesn’t always work ask Kevin Randleman(thought Fedor would be out cold) and technically Matt Hughes(I still maintain Newton deserved a no contest at the least), but in an armbar it causes big issue for the guy going for it. At least with a triangle it can tighten the triangle after a hard slam but w/ an armbar it’s extremely hard to hold on.

Gonzaga could KO carwin but Gonzaga’s takedown defense would be the key in that match-up.
