Josh Neer Inks New Four-Fight UFC Contract
Lightweight Josh Neer, who was last seen defeating The Ultimate Fighter 6 winner Mac Danzig at UFC Fight Night 17 earlier this month, has re-signed with the UFC, recently inking a new four-fight deal with the promotion.
Neer’s agent Mickey Dubberly confirmed the signing on Tuesday with MMA Junkie.
Neer began his UFC career with just a 2-3 mark that included losses Drew Fickett, Josh Burkman, and Nick Diaz as well as wins over Joe Stevenson and Melvin Guillard. After temporarily leaving the promotion and compiling a 6-1 record outside the octagon, Neer returned to the UFC in 2008, earning victories over Din Thomas and Danzig, while also suffering a split decision loss to Nate Diaz.
Neer made headlines prior to his fight with Danzig after being arrested on New Year’s Day in Iowa on charges of DWI and eluding police following an alleged hit-and-run incident. Despite the charges, Neer still earned “Fight of the Night” honors for his second-round submission victory.

Good signing. Neer is a quality fighter who can pull submission victory from the brink of defeat. I don’t like his cockyness though.
When you have a chin like his, I think I’d be cocky too… just saying, he kinda seems like a punk though. I was actually impressed with his win over Danzig
i hate him but good fighter.
i dont like how he swings his fist around when he fights
Neer just walked toward danzig like a cyborg…must kill danzig, must kill danzig. He is a warrior, when I watched that fight I was thinking it was just a matter of time till he wins, very confident he is.
yep he keepgoing for that triangle i knew he would get it eventually
He has some quality wins, while entertaining, I did’nt think danzig was one of them. Mac is way overrated! Hopefully he can get this dwi thing behind him and move up?
