TUF: Live runner-up Al Iaquinta has answered the UFC’s call and will replace Paul Taylor at UFC Fight Night 30. Iaquinta will be making his return against the always tough Anthony Njokuani. The UFC announced the news earlier today and Iaquinta talked about the recent news with Fightline.
“Ray (Longo) and I were actually talking earlier before I got the call about how many 155 (pound) fights were coming up in the next two months. We were talking about staying in shape and being ready for the call. It just so happened that night I got the call while watching the new episode of The Ultimate Fighter.”
Iaquinta looked very impressive in his first fight since TUF by annihilating a gutsy Ryan Couture at UFC 164. The victory snapped a two-fight professional losing streak for the fighter.
UFC Fight Night 30 is scheduled for October 26 at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England. The fight card will be headlined by a middleweight showdown between top challengers Michael Bisping and Mark Muñoz. UFC Fight Night 30 will air on FOX Sports 1.
