A lightweight battle between Yves Edwards and Yancy Medeiros has been set for UFC Fight Night 31 (aka UFC Fight for the Troops 3). The two fighters will likely find themselves battling it out on the night’s undercard. UFC officials announced the bout on Sunday.
Both Edwards and Medeiros are facing off after frustrating losses in their previous outings. Edwards dropped a split decision to Daron Cruickshank at UFC on FOX 8, while Medeiros dropped a TKO loss to Rustam Khabilov when he suffered a fractured/dislocated thumb at UFC 159.
The UFC’s third “Fight for the Troops” event will take place at the home of the legendary 101st Airborne Division in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Headlining UFC Fight Night 31 will be a middleweight matchup between Lyoto Machida and United States Army Special Forces sniper Tim Kennedy. The fight card will air live on November 6 via FOX Sports 1, with the preliminary card likely landing on Facebook.
