Patrick Barry vs. Tim Hague Added To UFC 98

Heavyweights Patrick Barry and Tim Hague will square off at UFC 98 on May 23rd in Las Vegas, MMAFrenzy.com has confirmed.
Barry (4-0), a former professional kickboxer, transitioned to MMA in 2008, winning three-straight bouts in Combat USA, a midwest MMA promotion, before successfully making his UFC debut in December with a first-round TKO of Dan Evensen at UFC 92.
The current King of the Cage Canadian heavyweight champion Hague (9-1) will be making his UFC debut in the bout after compiling a 9-1 career record since debuting in 2006, including four-straight victories since April 2008.
UFC 98 is slated to feature the heavyweight title unification rematch between Brock Lesnar and Frank Mir as well as the anticipated welterweight grudge match between Matt Serra and Matt Hughes.

I haven’t seen Barry fight yet but I hear he is a beast.
I saw the Evensen fight. Barry won via TKO (Leg Kicks). When you TKO someone due to leg kicks, you kick freaking hard. After the first kick landed you could tell it was only a matter of time before Evensen was done, his whole demeanor changed. It was stopped at 2:36 into the first round.
Leg kicks, no sh!t? Wow he tore up his mcl with leg kicks? Hope he is not the second coming of Huston Alexander.

He is a little stout beast, his kicks are vicious as all get out, like it was said when you tko someone just with leg kicks that’s pretty bad ass…
Has anyone see him do his impersonation of “techno Viking”? Its pretty damn hilarious.. I’m interested to see how strong he becomes in the UFC picture

Honestly, he’ll go as far as his ground game will take him. Kongo is a monster but his ground game is all that’s holding him back.

I have trained w/Barrey and he is a beast! He also has a GREAT jiu-jitsu coach so he will be no slouch when/if (i doubt it) the fight goes to the ground.

Pat Barry is being coached Jiu Jitsu with Eric Schafer, and Pat Barry in return is helping Schafer’s striking along with Duke Roufus. I would say Pat Barry will be decent on the ground very soon with Red’s training.
