UFC Cuts Matt Arroyo, Nate Mohr, and Reese Andy
The UFC is still at it…reducing their roster that is. They were obviously not joking when they said that they wanted to drop their roster by more than 50 fighters, cutting Matt Arroyo, Nate Mohr, and Reese Andy in recent weeks, according to Five Ounces of Pain.
Arroyo defeated John Kolosci at The Ultimate Fighter 6 Finale, but next suffered back-to-back losses to Matt Brown and Dan Cramer that sealed his release from the promotion.
Andy continues the two loss release equation, dropping two-straight fights to Matt Hamill and Brandon “The Truth” Vera. While both of the losses came against well-known fighters, Vera’s stock has tumbled in recent fights and Hamill hasn’t emerged as a top light heavyweight.
Nate Mohr’s four-fight career in the UFC ended with defeats from Manny Gamburyan and Dennis Siver.
While the UFC has been cleaning out their closet it appears that they are still in the business of hiring, adding American Top Team heavyweight Todd Duffee to their list of contracted fighters.

No surprises here. All 3 will end up elsewhere soon.
You just knew when you looked at Reese Andy that he wasn’t gonna be there very long
I don’t think any of them will be missed, but they probably will end up fighting somewhere else.
not any good fighters.
i wonder whos next?
After the TUF show, I really thought Matt Arrojo would piece together a decent showing in the UFC. I guess I am more surpised that he was a bust than I am with his release.
I would agree with that. The only thing we could say we saw is perhaps a lack of toughness. Still no real surprise.
I completely agree with you about Arroyo, I said the same thing after that Finale and was kinda surprised he never was able to get anything going. Maybe he signs with WEC and stays in the family otherwise it’s off to the small shows and maybe he works his way back.
Matt Aroyo will be back. The kid has too much talent to let this set back stop him. He has to show somw heart though, from his past it looks like he don’t have much, IMO.
dude theres a helluva lot of fighters left to be cut personally i can’t stand mac danzig
its about time they cut arroyo he hasn’t been good
since the ultimate fighter
