Hallmann Recovers to tap Trinaldo
Polish import Piotr Hallman showed guts tonight in Brazil as he defeated Francisco Trinaldo. The Brazilian appeared to be on his way to a dominant win in the first, as he twice dropped the Polish fighter with body kicks. Hallmann toughed it out to the end of the round and came back in the second with a solid ground attack. Hallmann was able to shock the Brazilian crown by tapping their fellow countryman with a Kimura.
Natal Pounds Gutsy Troeng
Rafael Natal would make his homecoming a happy one tonight in Belo Horizonte opposite TUF 17’s Tor Troeng. Natal would drop the Swede in each of the first two rounds but Troeng refused to yield and battled back on the canvas. While Troeng would leave it all in the Octagon, it was not enough to get the victory. Natal has now won five of his last six, whole Troeng drops to 1-1 in the UFC.
Bagautinov Demolishes Vinicius
Dagestani fighter Ali Bagautinov had one chance to make a first impression and he certainly made a lasting one against Marcos Vinicius. After nearly finishing Vinicius in the first, Bagautinov showed a versatile skill set before destroying the Brazilian fighter with a vicious overhand right. Bagautinov has now won nine fights in a row.
