Anthony Pettis out 7-8 Weeks with Sprained Knee

TJ Grant

Recently crowned UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis will be out 7-8 weeks with a sprained knee according to UFC president Dana White. The UFC frontman announced on ESPN’s SportCenter that the injury will not require surgery and that he will only require rehab on his injured left knee.

The UFC also confirmed previous reports that Pettis will face T.J. Grant when he returns to action later this year.

Furthermore, the promotion laid out some intriguing possibilities for Pettis if he were to get past Grant as well, with UFC featherweight champion José Aldo firmly a part of the plan.

Despite any future plans, the immediate concern is for Pettis to get his injured knee healthy and defend his title against the very dangerous T.J. Grant.
