Bellator 98: Riggs’ Injury Delays Fight Master Finale

An orbital bone injury to Fight Master finalist Joe Riggs has forced a change to the Bellator 98 lineup. With the injury happening so close to Saturday’s card the promotion has elected to delay Riggs’ bout with Mike Bronzoullis to a date to be determined.’s Loretta Hunt first tweeted news of the shift earlier today with Bellator MMA officials confirming the move earlier.

Riggs tweeted an image of the injury earlier today:

Bellator 98 takes place this Saturday and is headlined by a middleweight title bout between champion Alexander Shlemenko and Brett Cooper. The card will also feature former champion Joe Warren taking on bantamweight Nick Kirk. The card will take place at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut on September 7 and serve as the launch for Bellator MMA Season 9.
