excited to see boom boom johnson, i think he will make short work off luigi, got a feeling danzig will win (hope he gets beat) got joe subbing stephens first round.

  • Markus J says:

Lugi looked pretty good in his fight against Sanchez. Lasted a lot longer than I thought he would. I think Lauzon is incredibly over favored and can see Stephens pulling off the upset. Looking for another devastating performance from Cain!!

  • aussie1232 says:

    Lauzon (2nd round sub)
    Mac Danzig
Cain will be up for manslaughter after this match
    Luigi will win this

  • esopteradactyl says:

I wish the riddle fight was on the main card. He is gonna be a huge 170. With his ground skills and powerful hands, he could be someone to watch once he has a few more fights.

I’m really disappointed in the content of the broadcast. Too many “sneak previews” of crappy movies and video games. Street Fighter 4, more important than a fight? Really? Crappy remake if Friday the 13th?

I don’t normally complain about free cards, but I’m making an exception here because I’m not bi tching about the quality of the fights, but rather the quality of the broadcast. How about we try showing more than two fights, one of which ended in the first round, during the first hour?

    • justin says:

      Agreed.

      Also, Stojnic was OUT CLASSED.

    • B W says:

Get a TiVo. Start watching like a half hour late. That’s what I do.

They have to sell time to sponsors in order to bring is free fights.

All the fights were good as well and we got to see some under card fights. No complaints from me.

      • B W says:

*us. Sorry blackberry smart type bs.

      • justin says:

Watched on DVR, I practically fast forwarded the first 20 minutes of the broad cast.

I’m not complaining that there were free fights, and the fights were good. I just don’t want soooo much ad time. I think that for the casual viewer this could be a big turn off. I am glad though that we got to see a couple of the under card fights.

    • dbiz says:

10 minutes of fighting in an hour is ridiculous. Normally I defend free cards from people who rag them. And this one is no exception. These were good fights.

BUT….total payout is going to be about 400k for this card. Tops. To make us slog through 15 minutes of “sneak” previews is just wrong. Toss in the ad breaks (after a 10 minute intro) and you’re looking at a 4-1 ads-to-fights ratio.

      That was just crappy.

  • dbiz says:

Waugh did a great job moving to watch for a tap on the Lauzon win.

  • Clark says:

    —Misc UFC thoughts

Time to give Anthony Johnson a big fight — top five — where the winner gets a title shot.

The UFC should do more free TV fights. Especially fighters ranked outside of the top ten. Keep the pay per view focused on the C in UFC, actual championship fights and top ten fights leading to a title shot.

Brand new fighters should not have to fight established vets. They are far too frequently fed to the lions. Why not have the new fighters fight each other ?

    —Fights I’d like to see

    Couture should fight big nog

    Machida should fight Evans

There should be a four man tourney to establish the fighter to next get a title shot against A. Silva. The fighters should include:

    Dan Henderson (4-2)
    Demian Maia (4-0)
    Nate Marquardt (6-2)
    Michael Bisping (7-1)
    Alternate = Patrick Cote (4-5)

    Okami should fight A Silva.

    T. Alves should fight GSP

There should be a four man tourney to establish the next title shot–

    Jon Fitch (9-1)
    Josh Koscheck (9-2)
    Mike Swick (8-1)
    Matt Hughes (16-5)

    – If Fitch and Koscheck won’t fight each other they should be required to survive TWO additional fights from top ten fighters.

    There should be a four man tourney to establish who’s the man among the following;

    Carlos Condit (0-0)
    Marcus Davis (8-2)
    karo Parisyan (9-3)
    Matt Serra (6-5)

Gray Maynard should get a top five fight.

There should be a four man tourney among the following:

    Sean Sherk
    Tyson Griffin (5-2)
    Joe Stevenson (6-3)
    Gray Maynard
    Alternate Clay Guida
