Didn’t Affliction have a hard time filling it with the best fighter in the world headlining?” I viewed those as two separate thoughts, and I will respond to them separately here.

Coker knows what he’s doing, and has built a successful promotion without the fighters of the ProElite stable. They have already done shows on both showtime and HDNet that were successful, with the addition of the fighters from ProElite, one can only expect that trend to continue.

San Jose is Shamrock’s home town, and Strikeforce has always done well in this town. They haven’t yet released a rumored match-up for him, but the fact that he’s on the card bodes well for them in San Jose. Also, they’ve already shown that they can produce a crowd at the venue (see wikipedia reference in previous comment, also follow the link and you will find that nine of the seventeen MMA events they’ve already held were at the HP Pavilion), so what’s the point in belittling the promotion by comparing them to Affliction.

Now, on to your second comment.

If EliteXC could bring in the millions of viewers, and now you’ve added their stable of fighters to an already successful organization, that’s been in the Martial Arts business since 1985, and MMA since 2006 I think they can get it done.

1. Shamrock v. Shamrock (both are interested…I’m not, but could be a big draw)
2. Le v. Lawler belt unification
3. Thomson v. Noons (already rumored)
4. Thomson v. Diaz
5. Overeem v. Rogers
6. Overeem v. Buantello
7. Alvarez v. Diaz (which ProElite had scheduled before they closed up)
8. Southworth v. Petruzelli (this one is quite a stretch, but Petruzelli has name recognition as the Kimbo slayer, and both of them were on TUF)

And you write “To sum things up”….What is that? A high school essay conclusion? You only had one argument with one proof/quote. There’s nothing to “sum”. I give it a C.
