Conor McGregor is doing his best to capture headlines, but this time it’s not because of highlight reel striking display in the Octagon, but rather, due to a recent tweet. In case you’ve skipped television or the internet the last few days, chances are you know that McGregor scored a one sided, unanimous decision win over Max Holloway at UFC Fight Night 26.
Now that the Irish fighter has gone 2-0 in the UFC, speculation has already begun as to who McGregor will fight next. Well, to that end, the outspoken “Notorious” has decided to share his ‘thoughts’ on many of the promotion’s top featherweights via Twitter. The following tweet appeared on McGregor’s official Twitter feed recently:
Aldo-Safe. Mendes-135er. Lamas-Nobody cares. Cub-OLD. TKZ-Open. Edgar-135er. Siver-OLD. Poirier-PeaHead. Guida-Boring. Lentz-Boring. Koch-?.
Wow. Guess McGregor apparently isn’t too worried about Cub Swanson’s recent warning that he needs to watch his “damn mouth”. If you’re wondering, Cub is 29 years old and McGregor is 25…
It’s also worth noting that the tweet, which is sure to ruffle the feathers of a few fans and fighters, was posted the same day McGregor’s coach floated the idea of a bout with Diego Brandao. Evidently, McGregor is hoping to land a tilt with a top ten 145’er next.
McGregor announced after his win over Holloway that he had hurt his knee in the bout, but it sounds like it’s not too serious. “UFC Tonight” reported earlier in the week that it’s a minor sprain of his LCL, and the fighter also tweeted “M.R.I scan tomorrow to see about my knee. Hoping 3/4 weeks max. If so I can do Manchester card, aswell as Vegas. Forget that waiting shit.”
