The UFC is headed to Fort Campbell, Kentucky on November 6 for UFC Fight for the Troops 3. Headlining the fall card will be a middleweight matchup between Lyoto Machida and United States Army Special Forces sniper Tim Kennedy. UFC president Dana White officially announced the card on an episode of FOX Sports Live late Wednesday evening.
The bout will serve as Lyoto Machida’s middleweight debut after toying with the idea for a while. The former UFC light heavyweight champ heads into the bout fresh off a controversial loss to Phil Davis at UFC 163.
Machida will be taking on Bronze Star recipient Tim Kennedy at the home of the legendary 101st Airborne Division. Kennedy picked up a victory in his last outing at UFC 162, defeating Roger Gracie in impressive fashion by negating the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu champion’s best weapons throughout the fight.
UFC Fight for the Troops 3 will air live via FOX Sports 1, with the preliminary card likely landing on Facebook.
