UFC 166: Eye vs. Kaufman Possible

Sarah Kaufman

When Bellator MMA folded their women’s division last week it freed up one of the better WMMA flyweight/bantamweight prospects in Jessica Eye. “Evil” Eye was not on the market long, as she is now UFC bound. The signing was announced on last night’s episode of UFC Tonight.

It was also announced on the show that Eye could be debuting as early as UFC 166 against former Strikeforce women’s bantamweight champion Sarah Kaufman.

Eye comes to the promotion with a 10-1 record, with her last victory coming at NAAFS: Fight in the Flats 9 against Carina Damm. The Ohio native brings a well-rounded skill set into the Octagon and a seven-fight win streak. Eye’s lone career loss came by way of rear-naked choke to Irish fighter Aisling Daly.

UFC 166 is headlined by the third fight between UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez and Junior dos Santos. A bout between Daniel Cormier and Roy Nelson will co-headline the billing. The fight card will take place October 19 at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.
