There's a ton of hype on this kid and many are wondering where he goes next after defeating Max Holloway. A lot will depend on how bad his knee is injured, but I really think a bout with Dennis Bermudez could be a good pairing or the winner of Koch/Poirier. If the UFC wanted to fast track McGregor however, the winner of next week's bout between Chad Mendes and Clay Guida.
Johnson frustrates the hell out of me. He shows flashes of absolute brilliance but then makes mistakes that lead to his two-fight losing streak prior to Saturday's bout. I want to be excited about Johnson's virtuoso performance but I need to see him put together a string of wins before I can really get behind it. Issac Vallie-Flagg makes sense here, but another bout I think could provide serious fireworks would be a fight with Jamie Varner.
Mike Pierce makes a lot of sense here but a bout with Tarec Saffiedine would be highly intriguing pairing as well. While I am impressed by his win-streak, the streak becomes secondary as it is time to see what he does against more technical, and better rounded, fighters at the top of the division.
I really want to see him fight Michael McDonald, I think it is a great fight and really helps sort out the rematch hierarchy at bantamweight. It is easy to criticize all the title shots and number one contender slots that Faber has received but performances like he had Saturday are why those shots come.
I know Sonnen called out Wanderlei, but I love a matchup at middleweight with Ronaldo 'Jacaré' Souza if he gets past Yushin Okami. A like the Belfort pairing as well, but the Brazilian's mind seems to change as much as a teenage girl and I am not sure he would follow through.
