UFC Fight Night 29 Confirmed, Shields-Maia Headlines

After weeks of speculation, fighters announcing bouts themselves, the UFC has confirmed UFC Fight Night 29 for October 9 at Jose Correa Arena in Barueri, Sao Paulo, Brazil. The Brazilian incursion will be headlined by a five-round welterweight pairing between talented grapplers Jake Sields and Demian Maia. The main card will air live via FOX Sports 1, with the prelims airing via Facebook.

Other match-ups announced for the fall card include a welterweight pairing between Dong Hyun Kim and Erick Silva, a featherweight matchup between Rony ‘Jason’ Bezerra and Jeremy Stephens, a light heavyweight matchup pitting Matt Hamill against Thiago Silva, and a long-expected bantamweight bout between Raphael Assuncao and T.J. Dillashaw.
