Dana knew about the Vaseline as soon as the fight was over, that’s interesting.
I thought it was wild that he was trying to cheer up Bonnar, and that he said that Bonnar and Forrest are with him no matter what.
It looked like Kim was trying to Lobby for his job, a little bit.
It’s really interesting to me what goes on behind the scenes at these things.
I agree, that’s why I really like these blogs. Cause get a chance to see the behind the scenes stuff.
I guess the vaseline was a big deal, since Dana was informed right away that the commish wasn’t happy.
It was funny watching Wandy bet on the brazilian.
I liked how Penn’s room was playing “Smoke Two Joints.”
well it looked like liddel was spreading the word… he told dana and he told mir… BUT if you watch the replay of this supposed vaseline rub down… the trainer didnt rub anything on his back, or all over his back… he gave GSP a little shoulder squeeze… if there had been any vaseline rubbed on him it would have shown as shinier skin, but it didnt…
also by that time in the fight vaseline wouldnt do much since they were both sweaty as hell…
id pay the axe murderer faster than dana did…
You apparently haven’t seen the multiple videos and gifs circulating the net showing what happened.
Why did Liddell feel the need to be the cop? Why did Dana go off on GSP’s camp – you can see them go from ecstasy to dejected in a heart beat. In any case, the corner man for GSP really should know better … even if it was a case of a mistake or poor judgment he needs to live up to the class of GSP, or hit the road.
I really like Danas video blogs, I respect Dana alot more than I did before I watched these videos.
The crowds reaction to Machida KTFO:ing Silva was ****ing off the charts, my ears still hurts.

Totally not GSP’s fault any way you look at it….The commition saw what happend and wiped GSP down between all rounds! There is no reason that this gets pointed at GSP! I agree with the poster above that if you’re gonna corner for George you have to be as classy as him! If George would have found out during the fight there would have been two TKO’s. I just hate to hear about it for the next 3 years from BJ. He was dominated and will try to use this to make it look like GSP was cheating. Another rematch BJ? Didn’t think so! Georges corner man in question should have his license revolked!
true not GSP fault….in the octagon penn got dominated no excuses but get one thing straight PENN still is the lightweight champion jus to show a little class what done is done look forward to PENN knocking out or even tapping Kenny Florian still BJ is the best pound for pound MMA fighter out there….PENN stay up braddah u still Hawaiis Best MMA fighter…aloha’z

Nope. Maybe top 5. But I’m not sure I’d put him there after watching that fight.
BJ is not even close to being the best P4P fighter out there. I can name you 5 that are better than him:
Fedor
Silva
GSP
Faber
Torres
Best P4P fighters in the world don’t go 4-4 in their last 8 fights.
BJ Penn is good…but he’s also hype.
If GSP did get a little extra vas on him, well that just sucks… Even my lady asked me why Penn couldnt use the same guard tactics that he usually does, ie rubber to a conter to a switch.. She was like GSP is EXTRA slippery funny how the pics and the gifs show him getting “rubbed” down…
Mind you all that i do agree that Penn was getting worked by GSP but com’on nobody just slides through Penn’s guard like that..
BJ Penn did lose but atleast there is proof of the vas being applied..

That has got to be the loudest crowd i have ever heard.
I love both of these guys as fighters, but come on people. The vas MUST have been the reason that BJ was super tired, and didn’t continue the fight, and didn’t buck the side control or frame out some distance between GSP and himself. Come on.
You don’t think BJ would have screamed like he did in the first round if he couldn’t keep his guard closed? I agree it sucks that this happened.
I guess there will be a third time.
(I was nervous the first time, and this time was no exception – next time I’m just gonna hide from the TV).
BJ may have gassed sure and ya GSP whooped up on him…. You can still pull a triangle even when youre tired (Royce v Sevren), I dont think there should be a third time kinda like whats the point, but this needs to be looked at by the commision and acknowledged by us fans, and no im not making excuses for Penn’s loss, hey GSP is the baddest at 170 and Penn at 155 there is no need for a third fight imo…
I belive that Penn yelling in the first was due to the fact that GSP was pulling and holding on his shorts while attempting to take Penn down, just my thoughts tho cheers

Anybody else find it a little odd that Dana still took a dig at Tito when talking to BJ’s brother about how Dana looked skinnier? I know he has a passionate dislike for Ortiz, but jeez…enough already

This card was a bit of a dud in a way . For the promo it got anyways .How would you guys rate it against the Affliction card ?Id say Affliction has it.. but its not like they pump out the shows ala UFC . Maybe thats the problem . slow down on the PPV and have better cards .Its not like they have alot of competition as of late
i am impressed with dana’s spontaneous honesty about the vaseline,
and support towards bonnar.
Is there a clip of the vaseline being wiped off – supposedly that happened but I’ve seen the shoulder rub GIF and the more shocking backrub GIF.
Also, who rubbed the vaseline off – someone from GP’s camp or a neutral party?!
bonnar is the real deal. his opponent although, unknown,
is someone really outstanding, unique.
and it was a great fight.
bonnar would win a rematch 7/10 x IMO based on this fight. Usually his elite striking connects, but it wasn’t his night. And it’s awesome that there is another amazing fighter in the division Jones. It would suck if bonnar isn’t back for more fights as he is a slick warrior, who got beat by the better man of the night

Dana clearly stated in the video that Bonnar will be back for more fights, as long as Bonnar wants to be.
yea, i agree – i’m sick of the tito scapegoating thing. I think Tito (esp as commentator is good for a laugh – no prob there), but he’s a hall of famer who help build the sport with his blood and sweat, so
JEEZ LOUISE a little respect can go a long way.

Ethically it sucks – but it’s actually free publicity for Affliction etc, so considering that Dana is very intelligent it also shows he emotionally is a boy sometimes
This card, to me was awesome, GSP PENN, a new star in Jones, an ‘upset’ to Bonnar,
Lyoto living up to the hype and then some. All the fighters really brought it.
The Vaseline thing is the only thing that troubles me, (GSP was unstoppable anyway- even by Penn- but that’s NOT THE POINT).
Affliction was awesome too in a different way – both totally worth the money

It’s a question, because this is not the first, second, or even third time I’ve seen you do this. Most people try to get all their thoughts into one comment, and usually apologize for multiples. No one is trying to run you off the site, and no one is trying to say it’s a private party. I’m just trying to understand why you don’t follow normal etiquette that 98% of the people that comment here follow.
