UFC 164: Houston Scratched, Card Drops to 12-Fights

Yoel Romero

A medical issue has forced Brian Houston out of his bout with 2000 Olympic freestyle silver medalist Yoel Romero. Houston was originally tabbed to replace Derek Brunson before being forced off the card. In lieu of a replacement, the promotion has pulled Romero from the fight card. The move was first announced on UFC Tonight.

UFC 164 will take place at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on August 31 and will air live on PPV. The lightweight title rematch between Anthony Pettis and lightweight champion Benson Henderson will highlight the evening. UFC 164 will feature heavyweights Frank Mir and Josh Barnett meeting in the night’s co-main event.

The card will also feature a pair of featherweight bouts as Dustin Poirier takes on Erik Koch and Chad Mendes takes on Clay Guida.
