A lightweight pairing between Paul Taylor and Anthony Njokuani is reportedly being targeted for the UFC’s October trip to Manchester, England. Sherdog first reported the pairing over the weekend.
Taylor has not fought since his 2011 victory over Gabe Rudiger at UFC 126 due to a horrid stretch of luck involving injuries. Anthony Njokuani will be returning to the cage fresh off his UFC on FOX 7 victory over Roger Bowling. Njokuani will be looking to win two fights in a row when he faces Taylor, a feat he has not accomplished since 2009.
The two were originally to face off in 2011 before a car crash sidelined Taylor shortly before UFC 138. The pairing was again set for UFC on FUEL TV 4 but Taylor was again forced out with injury and Njokuani dropped a fight to his replacement, Rafael dos Anjos.
UFC Fight Night 30 is scheduled for October 26 at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England. The fight card will be headlined by a middleweight showdown between top challengers Michael Bisping and Mark Muñoz. While most of the UFC Fight Night cards will normally air on FOX Sports 1, this card will air on FOX Sports 2 (what is now FUEL TV).
