A heavyweight bout originally planned for next Saturday will land in Toronto as Brendan Schaub will face Matt Mitrione at UFC 165. The bout was previously delayed by an injury to Mitrione earlier this month. Canadian reporter David Deibert announced the move on Friday.
The match-up pits two former Team Evan teammates from The Ultimate Fighter 10 cast. Both Mitrione and Schaub snapped two-fight losing streaks in their last outings, with Schaub defeating Lavar Johnson at UFC 157 this past February and Mitrione defeating Phil de Fries in Sweden.
UFC 165 will take place Septemeber 21 and will mark the fourth time the UFC has traveled to Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The card is set to be headlined by a UFC light heavyweight title fight featuring champion Jon Jones taking on Alexander Gustafsson. An interim bantamweight title fight between champion Renan Barão and Eddie Wineland will co-headline the bout.
