Invicta FC 6 kicked off with a three-fight preliminary card for free on Ustream. The featured undercard fight continued a string of bad luck for tonight’s card however as late-replacement Tamikka Brents was injured (see below) and forced out of her fight with Ediane Gomes. In other action, Emily Kagan and Livia Von Plettenberg picked up victories on the night’s undercard.

Kagan Edges Cummins
Emily Kagan picked a hard fought victory tonight in Kansas City by defeating Ashley Cummins. While the final result had many scratching their heads, the bout was an entertaining one as the two fighters gave it their best efforts tonight in the Invicta FC cage. The victory is Kagan’s first in two tries after being choked out by Rose Namajunas in her first Invicta FC bout earlier this year. Cummins drops to 3-3 professionally with the loss, but was impressive despite the judges’ verdict.
Von Plettenberg Grinds Down Late-Replacement Catron
After a last-second change to the fight card, Kathina Catron and Livia Von Plettenberg kicked off the card on Ustream. While Catron took the fight on less-than 24-hours notice it did not show up in her performance but it was not enough to get the win tonight. Von Plettenberg’s takedown and grappling skills were the difference in the bout, and it lead her to a unanimous decision victory.
