MMA trainer Musail Allaudinov was murdered in his native Dagestan on Tuesday. Allaudinov, head of the Goretz MMA gym, was gunned down in his car early Tuesday morning. Dagestan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed his death yesterday according to Russia’s MixFight.ru website.
Allaudinov moved into training after a 7-5 record in MMA competition, where he trained fighters like Bellator MMA Season 7 tournament winner Shahbulat Shamhalaev. News of his death also appeared on the official Facebook account of former teammate Fedor Emelianenko, offering condolences on behalf of the former PRIDE champion.
Allaudinov was instrumental in the development of MMA in southern Russia, where he worked in an official capacity with the Russian Federation’s governing body. Musail Allaudinov was 35 at the time of his death.
Details are scarce in his death, but shootings of this nature are hardly uncommon in the region. Political journalist Akhmednabi Akhmednabiyev was killed in a targeted attack using the same method, on the same day, outside the republic’s capital of Makhachkala, though their deaths were unrelated.
