Krzysztof Soszynski vs. Brian Stann Possible For UFC 97

Krzysztof Soszynski

Krzysztof Soszynski

Light heavyweights Krzysztof Soszynski and Brian Stann could meet at UFC 97 on April 18th in Montreal, Canada, though bout agreements for the potential 205-pound matchup have not yet been signed according to MMAJunkie.com.

A cast member on The Ultimate Fighter 8 and veteran of the IFL and TKO, Soszynski (17-8-1) has won his last four-straight bouts, including a victory in his UFC debut over Shane Primm at The Ultimate Fighter 8 Finale in December.

Stann (6-1) is a former WEC light heavyweight champion who claimed the title with a first-round knockout of Doug Marshall in March 2008. Stann’s title reign was short-lived, however, as he dropped the title in his first attempted defense against Steve Cantwell last August.

Well this is a good test for the best of them imo, and a fight that could be rather entertaing, I hope they sign on the x for this one.

You guy mess with this site too much, way too clustered for me. I’m done for a while.

    • gunslinger says:

      wow….good ridance!

Its rather interesting to me that people don’t reconize that Kris is attempting to make the FrenZy easier for everyone, rather by making quicker, allowing members, attempting to set up “forums”, allowing people to blog, allowing members to message one another, always attempting to listen to everyones requests… So essentially understand this site is here for us to all enjoy, state our opionions and talk about this great sport known as MMA, give thanks to Kris don’t put the site down nor its owner for trying to improve the ever growing FrenZy, enjoy your break I guess….

      • Thanks for the backup guys. Everyone is entitled to their opinion on the design but the response to the new look has been overwhelmingly positive thus far. The new design was introduced because it will allow me to add a ton of new features with relative ease.

Within the next month I’m hoping to have at least 5 new features/sites online, including forums, blogs, a newswire, and a few others as well. We’re basically a one man operation right now (with the much appreciated help of Eric) so a lot of the upcoming features will be designed to give more power to the users so Frenzy can become the destination for everything MMA.

it seems to me (a lot of) MMA fans just like to b*tch…. this fight sucks, that fight sucks, this free card sucks, this card should be free its gunna suck, and now this!!!!!!!!! WOW start your own sites, start your own MMA org. show all of us how its done? now i am guilty of getting carried away with talking about a fighter or two but after i read a couble of post i learned to back off! but latly its getting retarded! it seems like people just want to complain, i try not to read them but it still anoying!

GREAT JOB KRIS! It has been a little harder for me to figure things out! it takes an extra 20 seconds out of my day! i have been to a few other sites (breifly) and it seems they have old ass news or news i don’t care about! this site its like 2, 3, 4 new articles a day!!!! ITS BAD ASS!!! YOU KEEP DOING THE DAWM THING!

      • windmiller says:

if you don’t like this site or want to complain (instead of give your opinion) about a free card, then i don’t think you like MMA to much!

      • justin says:

Yeah, I wonder about the people that complain about practically every card, and how much they actually like MMA.

  • JoeSama Bin Rogan says:

Is Krzystof “zoolander” Soszynski throwing down the magnum in that picture.

  • gunslinger says:

anyways this is a good first official fight in the ufc for both of these guys …a great test for both…..krzysztof by submission!

    • timcat says:

      hey Gun,
Krystoff has had a fight in the UFC. Stann is still a little green and should get taken out with a good ground game.

      • gunslinger says:

i know timcat but what i meant by first official fight in the ufc is against someone who isnt from T.U.F….i dont really consider it there first match until they face someone who they havent already had the chance to face in the house

  • justin says:

I expect a stand up fight. Definitely a good test for either of them. I hope they sign.

    justjoe,
Rather than say “oh, you make too many changes” then piss off, how about you say “Kris, I don’t like the way this is going,” and try to help improve the site.

  • matt says:

this is a good fight for fans. leather will fly. i dont think either fighter will be particularly happy to be fighting the other.

  • Lord Mark says:

hey Kris and guys, I know i don’t comment as much as i used to (mostly do to my job) but I still read it every day before I go to bed. This is still my fav. MMA site to read so screw the nay sayers and keep it up Kris! When the new settings are added it is initially a shock but I grow to love it relatively quick!

  • gioangelo says:

Stanns loss to cantwell was big.
He under estimated the opponent and he relized that.
hes been training for a while.
yall say tapout i dont think so.
what do you think hes been training for.
    Stanns no push over.
hes comin back with some fire and will not be stopped easy.
i think ko an the 3rd with stann still standing.
