Nick Diaz Promotion’s held the first War MMA card last night in Stockton, California, and the fighter’s Cesar Gracie teammate Daniel Roberts came up short against welterweight Justin Baesman. Roberts lost by split decision to Baesman, and as a result, the UFC vet saw his record fall to 14-5.
Heading into the bout Roberts had scored back-to-back wins over Nurir Shakir and Brian Foster, to rebound from a three fight losing skid in the UFC, which ended his run with the promotion.
Baesman, meanwhile, has won four straight fights now and improved his record to 14-3. The vet has gone 8-2 in his last 10 bouts.
The Cesar Gracie Fight Team and Bellator vet Roy Boughton picked up a win, by verbally submitting Mike Martinez with a toe hold in just 28 seconds. Boughton’s record now stands at 9-3.
In another main card bout, former WSOF and LFC competitor DJ Linderman worked his way to a unanimous decision win over fellow vet Mike Hayes.
