The Nevada State Athletic Commission has released the attendance and gate figures for World Series of Fighting’s recent June 14th event, which featured Josh Burkman choking out former UFC star Jon Fitch in the main event. The card was hosted by the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and was broadcast live on the NBC Sports Network.
According to the numbers the NSAC has released, 2,501 people were in attendance to watch WSOF 3, however, only 1,107 of those folks paid for their seats. The other 1,394 were given complimentary tickets. 186 tickets went unsold. The gate for the event was $106, 573.
While the promotion gave out plenty of free tickets, the card pulled around 200,00 viewers on the NBC Sports Network, which is reportedly more than what the channel normally draws for that time slot.
Other bouts that took place at WSOF 3 included UFC vet Jacob Volkmann working his way to a unanimous decision win over Lyle Beerbohm, Steve Carl tapping out Tyson Steele and Justin Gaethje stopping Brian Cobb.
Up next, the promotion will head to Ontario, California and the Citizens Bank Arena on August 10th for WSOF 4. The card will feature kickboxing star Tyrone Spong taking on light-heavyweight Angel DeAnda.
