UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre is expected to defend his title this November against number one contender Johnny Hendricks. The fight card is expected to take place in Las Vegas. UFC president Dana White made the announcement at the UFC 161 media day.
Both GSP and Hendricks are coming off victories at UFC 158. St-Pierre defended his UFC welterweight title for the eighth straight time by defeating Nick Diaz. Johnny Hendricks edged Carlos Condit in one of the best bouts of the year so far.
St-Pierre was originally expected to face off with Hendricks after UFC 154, but the champ elected to fight Diaz instead. The Québécois fighter has been busy filming a part in the upcoming Marvel movie Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
The bout between St-Pierre and Hendricks will headline the Vegas card, though the official name is unclear at this time. A venue and official date are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
