World Series of Fighting President Ray Sefo has been up front about the fact that fans could see him compete in the promotion’s cage, and now it looks like the renowned kickboxer will fight at WSOF 4 on August 10th. The 42 year-old Sefo made the announcement while appearing on the latest edition of “The MMA Hour” . The event is expected to take place at Citizens Bank Arena in Ontario, California on that date. Sefo’s opponent has not been determined yet.
Of course, it’s not every day you get to see a promotion’s president throw down at their organization’s event, but in Sefo’s case, we are talking about a man who has competed in well over 70 kickboxing bouts and currently holds a MMA record of 2-1.
Sefo’s last MMA fight took place at Strikeforce’s “Fedor vs. Silva” event in February, 2011, and the noted striker was forced to tap-out to a neck crank from Valentijn Overeem.
The decorated Muay Thai competitor and champion’s last kickboxing match went down in March, 2012, when he lost by unanimous decision to Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic. Sefo has also gone 5-1 in 6 pro boxing bouts.
WSOF 3 takes place this Friday in Las Vegas, Nevada and will feature Jon Fitch taking on Josh Burkman in the main event.
