The UFC has added a light heavyweight battle between Vinny Magalhães and Anthony Perosh for their return to Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. The announced the bout earlier today and confirmed multiple bouts for the August card.
Both fighters come into the bout coming off tough losses in their previous outings. Magalhães is coming off a decisive decision loss to Phil Davis, while Perosh is coming off a record tying seven-second defeat to Ryan Jimmo at UFC 149.
In a middleweight bout, Tom “Kong” Watson will square off with returning former number one contender Thales Leites in Rio. Watson won an all-out slugfest with Stanislav Nedkov at UFC on FUEL TV 7 this past February, while Leites has defeated three UFC veterans in a row on his way back to the Octagon.
In addition to the Magalhães-Perosh and Leites-Watson scraps, the UFC confirmed bouts between Demian Maia and Josh Koscheck, as well as Sergio Moraes vs. Neil Magny.
UFC 163 takes place August 3 at the HSBC Arena in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. A UFC featherweight title fight between champion José Aldo and Anthony Pettis will headline the August fight card. More bouts are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
