It looks like you can add Luke Rockhold to the seemingly ever growing list of fighters who have called out Michael Bisping, as the former Strikeforce champ has relayed via Twitter that he wants to fight the outspoken British fighter next.
@bisping u dont have opponent, I dont have opponent, u talk shit about “practice” i say we set the record straight once & for all @danawhite
Yes, you may recall that the outgoing Bisping laid out this story last fall, while appearing on SPIKE TV’s “MMA Uncensored” show:
“Let me put it like this: I’ve sparred with Luke Rockhold recently and let’s just say I’m the unofficial Strikeforce champion. Sorry Luke, but these are the facts.”
Clearly, Rockhold not only made a mental note of the remark at the time, but it would appear like the 28 year-old fighter has a different recollection of the sparring sessions. On a paper, this fight is certainly an intriguing match-up and it doesn’t hurt that there’s some already some heated banter taking place. Will Bisping be interested however? Bisping responded via Twitter by saying:
I say you go and win a fight in the UFC then we can talk.
So much for that? Or could Bisping be convinced if the UFC wants this fight to happen and gives him a nudge?
