Vitor Belfort has apologized for the way he responded to a question related to testosterone-replacement-therapy Saturday night, following his win over Luke Rockhold at UFC on FX 8. By the way, did you know Belfort knocked out Rockhold with a spinning heel kick that night? It was something.
When MMA Junkie.com’s John Morgan brought up TRT at the post-fight presser, a clearly bothered Belfort responded by asking “somebody beat him up” and told the writer “you’re boring man.” Evidently the feared striker was hoping the book on this issue was closed. Not surprisingly, it isn’t, even if that book already has had multiple chapters written.
The ongoing debate regarding TRT aside, Belfort has released the following statement via Twitter.
To all my fans and to all the reporters that was there on the after press conference I would like to ask for forgiveness the way I answer about TRT I RECOGNIZE THAT I ANWSER IN A IMMATURE WAY BUT WAS THE 10 th time that that reporter ask the same question. No excuse!! I made a WORNG call and I am here to ask for forgiveness God bless all you guys love to do what I do and I am keeping moving UP SEEKING GROW AS A MEN OF GOD AND AS A FIGHTER “DONT DOUT ME I WILL PROUVE U WORNG” PEACE
So, there you have it. Now the MMA world will wait and see who emerges victorious from the July 6th, Anderson Silva-Chris Weidman bout. If Belfort gets tapped for a title shot, it won’t be long before the TRT issue is brought up again, especially if the bout’s targeted for Brazil.
