Lineker Crushes Gashimov
In the second flyweight battle of the evening, John Lineker rudely welcomed Azamat Gashimov to the Octagon with a dominating victory. Lineker was superior in all facets of the game tonight in his native Brazil. In the second round, Lineker would land a brutal body kick that forced Gashimov to retreat. The Brazilian quickly pounced with another body shot that crumpled the Dagestani fighter and forced a stop to the fight.
Formiga Stymies Cariaso
Jussier “Formiga” da Silva notched his first victory in the Octagon tonight over Chris Cariaso. Formiga dominated the first two rounds with his elite BJJ and takedown assault. In the third, Cariaso would mount a comeback attempt highlighted by a deep modified guillotine choke and a big knee. It was not enough to turn the tide however, and Formiga notched his first UFC win in his native Brazil.
Martins Comes From Behind to Floor Larsen
Lucas Martins (pictured) scored his first UFC victory tonight in his native Brazil against Jeremy Larsen. It certainly was not easy for the Brazilian, as he was rocked multiple times over the course of the fight by Larsen. The complexion of the fight shifted drastically in the final frame after Martins would survive a brutal second round.
