Although Nate Diaz is in hot water with the UFC after directing a homophobic slur at Bryan Caraway Thursday via Twitter, his manager Mike Kogan is defending the fighter’s actions.
Diaz posted the following tweet in reference to the recent news that Pat Healy has been stripped of the “Submission of the Night” he picked up at UFC 159, as result of testing positive for marijuana. Bryan Caraway, who tapped out Johnny Bedford at the event, will receive the honor and $65,000 instead.
I feel bad for pat Healy that they took a innocent mans money and I think the guy who took the money is the biggest Fag in the world ..
UFC President Dana White informed MMA Junkie.com that Diaz will be suspended, fined or cut as a result of the tweet, which violates the UFC’s code of conduct. Kogan, however, isn’t about to apologize for Diaz’s comments. Kogan criticized Caraway for having “the nerve to go back out there and bash” Healy, before adding (quote via MMA Junkie):
“Guess what? The word f—-t, at least in Northern California, and where Nate is from, means bitch. It means you’re a little punk. It has nothing to do with homosexuals at all. So when Nate made the comment that he made, he didn’t make it in reference to homosexuals or calling Caraway a homosexual. He just said it was a bitch move.”
The UFC has yet to make an official announcement about the incident or any disciplinary action Diaz will receive.
Healy choked out Jim Miller with a third round, rear-naked-choke at UFC 159, however, as a result of his positive test the bout has been declared a no-contest.
