Lightweight “Ultimate Fighter” cast members Junie Browning and Cole Miller are likely to fight at UFC Fight Night 18 on April 1st in Nashville, Tennessee, MMAFrenzy.com has confirmed.

The controversial Browning (3-0) appeared on the recent eighth season of the reality series, nearly being kicked off the show multiple times before ultimately advancing to the 155-pound semis, where he lost to eventual season champion Efrain Escudero. “The Lunatic” made his official UFC debut at The Ultimate Fighter 8 Finale, submitting Dave Kaplan early in the second round.

Miller (13-3) was defeated by Joe Lauzon in the quarterfinals of the fifth season of The Ultimate Fighter, but was invited to participate on the season finale, where he defeated Andy Wang via first-round TKO. He next earned a unanimous decision victory over Leonard Garcia, but dropped a second-round TKO to Jeremy Stephens n his next bout. He rebounded from his first loss since mid-2006 with a late third-round submission of Jorge Gurgel last July.

Efrain Escudero vs. Jeremy Stephens and Matt Horwich vs. Ricardo Almeida are also slated for UFC Fight Night 18, which is expected to serve as the lead-in for the ninth season of The Ultimate Fighter.

Alright another big lightweight fight cole miller is on the rise so junie better train hard.

  • DaNNyBoY says:

Time for Junie to fight a legitimate 155er in Miller, is anybody ready for the post fight tears from the Lunatic?

  • Justin says:

All three of the fights mentioned have the potential to be great fights. This is shaping up to be a great UFN and a good lead in to the next TUF. I think Cole will likely beat Junie but if Junie improved as much from his last fight to this gift as he did from TUF to that fight he will stand a really hood change of pulling off what I would see as an upset. Horwich and Almieda should be good but I pick Almieda to sub him. Still undecided about Nelson and Stephens.

    Kris,
Do you what the venue for this will be? I’m thinking it could be the municipal arena since it’s only a UFN, but that place is small, like 5k small (if I remember correctly).

    • I haven’t heard anything about an arena for this card yet, though they might do it at the Sommet Center (Nashville Arena) and just scale it down a bit. I think the venue will depend on what fights they are able to book, but I’m not that familiar with the region to know all the available venues. I think they’ll be looking for around 10,000 seats.

      • Justin says:

I don’t think any of the hotels there have anything for this type of event. The only thing I’m aware of is either municipal or (I guess Sommet) where the predators play hockey. The latter being much larger.

      • Yeah, the one I mentioned is the Pred’s arena and can hold nearly 20,000 but could obviously be scaled down. The UFC decreased their ticket prices recently plus they’d rather have too large an arena and need to scale down than too large an arena and lose sales.

      • justin says:

Just saw on Wikipedia that this will be at Nashville Municipal Auditorium. I think they’re looking at like 8-10k max for that. I guarantee you won’t miss anything sitting in the cheap seats against the wall for this one. I’ve been to a conference here before and sat in the up level at the far end of the arena from the stage and you could see fine. Its quite an old venue, but the nice thing about that is the grub is exorbitantly priced.

junie by tko due to his xtreme couture training

    • canadamuayguy says:

Exactly Tompkins took him in & look what happened! Junie will b 1 tough dude in a while. If he shapes up his attitude & really trains hard with Shawn & the boys he will work out good. Cole is a tough order though.

  • DohBo says:

Big mistake. I’m a UFC loyalist, but I will not watch or pay for a fight with Junie Brown in it. He’ll lose the UFC more fans than he’ll bring.

  • mike says:

This fight is meaningless. Does anybody really care who wins? I guess its always good to see Junie get his ass kicked but can Cole Miller deliver? Miller is nowhere near the top 10 in the division, even if he wins this fight he will eventually just be in a warm up fight with someone better on there way to a title shot.

  • Justin says:

    Kris,
I just caught this sorry for not saying something sooner, but it’s “Junie Browning” not “Brown”.

  • gunslinger says:

haha i never saw that justin and i dont know why….but dohbo and mike i can see why u guys have such hatred for junie by why he is a completly changed person…i mean can you blame him for getting drunk and acting like a jackass…i mean anyone who has drank before has done it…..i mean to completly quit drinking and train at xtreme couture i cant hate the guy anymore i actually respect him for changing his life for the better……would you rather he go out like jesse taylor and continue to act like a jackass, give him some credit..i mean people said the same things about leben but look where he is now….he is a great fighter who has changed his life and is now a coach and a huge influence of his students lifes…junie could be the best someday theres no reason to hate anymore……Im sure plenty of other fighters acted like jackass’s on the show but the camera doesnt show everything it just shows what is gonna get people attention and it forces everyone to form an opinion on certain fighters and forces you to like the ones they want you to like…i mean come on i dont know about anyone else but ive forgivien junie for what he did he deserves to be given another shot and to be forgiven as he has changed his life and thats better than not doing anything to change

    • justin says:

I’m actually pulling for junie to keep his life turned around and become a good fighter. I think he acted the way he did on the show not necessarily because he’s a jerk but because he had/has a lot of problems.

      • fr702 says:

Its good that the little retarded kid from Kentucky has stoped drinking and focused on the one thing he can do pretty well and that’s fighting… I think he did what he did on the show because his mommy didn’t love him enough and perhaps “uncle Jimmy” loved him a lil too much..

Ofcourse I’m joking but he will have a difficult time in this fight but is at a wonderful camp and he is still learning, he should continue to get better fight to fight..

  • Mikew says:

I like Cole, he is a talented technical fighter and should have a distinct advantage in the submission game in this one. He’s got a good body type for subs also, he needs to get past Junie’s punches, get him down and take him out.

  • gunslinger says:

im looking forward to this fight i think its gonna be a really good fight

  • canadamuayguy says:

100% agreement Gun read my reply cheers.

  • justin says:

    Kris,
The site looks “bigger” to me, did you change the resolution or something, or am I just seeing things?

  • JOHNBOY says:

i like both these guys, but something is telling me miller will win, if im honest i will be rooting for junie
