The UFC has launched a paid subscription service via YouTube as part of the online media site’s rollout of 53 premium channels. The channel will cost $5.99 per-month after a 14-day trial period and will contain a bevy of past and present content.
“UFC Select” will feature multiple exclusive offerings including classic fights, event replays, and old seasons of The Ultimate Fighter. Episodes of UFC: Unleashed and Best of PRIDE will also be featured via the service.
YouTube’s paid channels are aimed at creating additional revenue for the video-hosting website, as well as its content partners, which number in the thousands. A report from The Wall Street Journal said paid-channel creators will keep more than 50 percent of all generated revenue, while YouTube pockets the rest.
