The World Series of Fighting has added a new co-main event to their WSOF 3 lineup as Tyson Steele (10-1) meets Steve Carl (19-3). The two fighters were slotted in the co-main event spot after elite striker Tyrone Spong was forced out of his scheduled bout with Angel DeAnda due to visa issues. WSOF officials announced the move earlier today.
Both Carl (pictured) and Steele are considered top prospects by the promotion and will be putting their respective five- and four-fight winning streaks when they face off. Steele comes into this bout fresh off the biggest victory of his young career by scoring a TKO victory over Gregor Gracie at WSOF 1. Carl, a U.S. Army veteran, was also in action on the WSOF’s inaugural card and defeated Ramico Blackmon via rear-naked choke.
Also of note, the promotion confirmed a previously announced bout between Lyle Beerbohm and Jacob Volkman.
WSOF 3 will see Jon Fitch face off with Josh Burkman in the June 14 fight card’s main event. WSOF 3 will take place at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada and air live on the NBC Sports Network.
