The World Series of Fighting have inked UFC veteran Tyson Griffin to multi-fight contract. The Xtreme Couture fighter confirmed the news via his official Twitter.
Griffin (16-6) was released by the UFC following a TKO loss to Bart Palaszewski in late 2011. The California-based fighter then inked a deal with the RFA, taking a victory over fellow octagon veteran Efrain Escudero after a 13-month layoff.
Tyson tweeted, “I’m excited to say, I have a multiple fight contract with @MMAWorldSeries Thanks @SugarRaySefo, @AliWSOF & the people that put it together.” Later continuing, I hope to be on the august WSOF card & can’t wait to put on the most exciting fight the @WSOFfans have ever seen!”
WSOF’s August offering is slated to feature the promotion’s first title bout, although further details on the event are still limited.
