It seems that when the UFC takes to the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, it will be doing so one bout short. According to the promotion, Catone was forced out due to a last second trip to the hospital.
The former middleweight tipped the scales at 173 lb. during yesterday’s weigh-ins, garnering a 20% forfeit of his purse, but was still expected to compete. “The Jersey Devil” suffered severe dehydration behind the tough weight cut for the welterweight match-up, inevitably leading to the bout being called off.
The bout was slated to take place on the Facebook preliminary portion of the bill.
